Party Cocoons

This recipe comes from my friend, Robin Coco. It is one of my favorite cookies to make during the holidays. They remind me of Christmas when i was growing up.
I love all the spices in this cookie.
Party Cocoons
2 sticks butter, softened
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground clove
1/2 cup sugar
2 cups sifted flour
2 cups chopped pecans
1/4 teaspoon allspice
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
Combine butter, sugar, and vanilla. Sift flour, salt, and spices together. Add to butter mixture. Mix in the pecans. Roll into one
inch balls. Bake 300 degrees for 20 minutes. Do not brown. Let cool, and roll in powdered sugar. The beauty of these cookies
is that you can freeze them after rolling them in the powdered sugar. Thaw and serve!
Makes about 3-4 dozen.
